PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Building 1 hotel in Fiumicino has obtained the LEED® certification at certified level. It offers comfortable and welcoming areas in line with the international standards of the belonging chain. In all the common spaces and rooms, the needs of leisure and business tourists from all across Europe are met through high levels of quality combined with comfort and hospitality.
The hotel’s strategic position on the Rome - Fiumicino route allows a perfect connection to both Rome and the Da Vinci airport.
The newly constructed complex, characterized by a modern appearance, is equipped with a very efficient opaque and transparent envelope which ensure high thermo-hygrometric performance, as required by the LEED® protocol. The glazed components have been selected taking into account their specific technical characteristics, as the solar factor 0.25, to limit the incident solar radiation and its propagation effects inside the building.
The systems implied allow to teach consistent energy performances thanks to the high efficiencies, so that the lighting is made entirely with LED lighting fixtures.
Particular attention has been paid, according the intended use, to the acoustic design to guarantee the comfort of each occupant.

SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY
The Hotel Building in Parco Leonardo in Fiumicino has been awarded LEED® Certified certification from the U.S. Green Building Council) under the LEED® v4 BD+C (Hospitality) rating system.
This was possible thanks to a broad spectrum of strategies. Among the sustainable construction and design features of the buildings have been included:
- A high efficient envelope has been designed to reduce energy consumption and provide good level of internal thermal and acoustic comfort
- LED high efficient lighting systems have been installed
- To reduce the energy load for heating, highly efficient heat recovery systems are fitted on air-handling units to recuperate heat from the exhausted air and to reuse it to the supplied air.
- High-reflective “cool roof” materials protect against the urban heat island effect and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, light-colored paving materials was also specified to further minimize the heat island effect.
- Healthy indoor finishes and paintings with low and zero VOC content are selected for the interior spaces.
- The complex is equipped with a photovoltaic and solar system.
