aMDL Studio

Metropolitan City of Milan, Italy

PROFILE

The philosophy adopted by Michele De Lucchi's studio, aMDL, seeks to maintain a steady interaction between architectural thinking, industrial design and global communication. This transverse approach is backed by Michele De Lucchi's personal research and international experience acquired through more than forty years' work. Founded in the early 1980s, the studio continues to evolve its original multicultural and multidisciplinary origins, producing architecture and design for Italian and foreign institutes, public and private organizations, businesses and individuals. This work is based on close observations of all matters relating to contemporary society, advancing technologies and the importance of respecting our natural environment. The present studio comprises some forty professionals from different cultural backgrounds and experiences who work in a flexible structure driven by constant teamwork. Its projects range from single products, to that of interiors, architecture and master plans, and are never confined to the visual aspects traditionally associated with design, but rather by contemplating every necessary step - from analysis to concept, from detailed development to realization through to the continued transformation for future scenarios. Always at the forefront of the international cultural scene the studio in Milan’s central design district is organized as a creative workshop in an Art Nouveau building that was converted in 2006. At Angera, on Lake Maggiore, Michele De Lucchi has established his atelier-archive, where many architectural experiments start and where his works are documented and stored. As proof of its constant search for excellence, the studio is certified ISO 9001:2015 for its architectural, urban, interior and exhibition design.
