TAIPEI 101 to reach new heights by pursuing LEED v4

12 May 2015, 09:56 |

TAIPEI 101 is destined to become the best-known LEED v4 Platinum project in the world.
The building, which is one of the tallest buildings in the world, was originally certified in 2011 as LEED Platinum under LEED O+M for Existing Buildings. To achieve new heights, Taipei Financial Center Corporation has recently announced its intent to recertify the building following the newest version - LEED v4 for EBOM (Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance) certification scheme.
This is an important signal to markets in Asia and across the globe and an opportunity to reach the millions of people who pass TAIPEI 101 in their daily lives, those who study it as one of the world’s tallest buildings, or those who stop to take a selfie” says Rick Fedrizzi, CEO & Founding Chairman of the USGBC.

Green buildings matter because they provide practical, measurable and tangible evidence of making a difference when it comes to so many of the problems we face such as chronic water shortages, polluted air, outsized energy use, inefficient resource use, and spiralling waste production impacting our communities around the world” adds Fedrizzi.
