To celebrate the World Green Building Week, an event to discuss on sustainable refurbishment of the historic building stock hit by earthquakes is launched in Arco, Italy.


A two-day conference focused on the sustainable refurbishment of the historical centres affected by the recent earthquakes will bring together green building experts, institutions and the manufacturing industry in Arco, North Italy, on the 6th and 7th October 2017.
 
‘Edilizia: punto di incontro’ is an initiative promoted by BigMat Carini Edilizia in collaboration with the Council of Arco and the technical-scientific coordination of Macro Design Studio.
 
The event, which adheres to the World Green Building Week, an international week focused on environmental issues and sustainable building promoted by the WGBC, will be moderated by Emanuele Bompan, environmental journalist and author, and Pierluigi Sabato of BigMat Italia.
 
Participants will earn 4 GBCI CE hours and Continuing Professional Development credits (crediti professionali) provided by Collegio Geometri, Collegio dei Periti Industriali, Ordine degli Architetti, Ordine degli Ingegneri.
 

Friday - October 6

The event will address the issues of structural and seismic consolidation and rehabilitation of multi-family residential buildings, the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAMs) and the sustainability rating schemes. 
Mario Tozzi, geologist, author and leading researcher at the CNR (National Research Council), and Giulio Bonazzi, Chairman and CEO of Aquafil S.p.A., will join the discussion at 8:30 pm introducing the themes of the sustainable environment and the use of water and energy resources in relation to the local context. 
 

Green Buildings - Guided Tour

On Saturday morning, October 7, there will be the opportunity to join a guided tour to most innovative and sustainable buildings in the Alto Garda area.
 

Educational Workshops

Besides the main event, and in connection with the ‘Autumn Day of Reuse’, a number of educational workshops will engage children with the theme of the recycling.
