Digital technologies that are changing the construction industry

19 June 2015, 06:32 |

New digital technologies are transforming the way we design and operate buildings as well as enabling urban regeneration processes. While part of construction industry has already embraced this "revolution", other operators are wondering how the "digital wave" will affect the construction sector in the near future and at what kind of opportunities it will open up. Is the industry equipped with the right skills and expertise to meet the new challenge? This is one of the hot topic of the debate which will be held at REBuild 2015 that will be held in in Riva del Garda (TN) on 25 and 26 June.

Cisco Systems and Studio Carlo Ratti Associati will analyse the opportunities generated by the new digital technologies applied to real estate and the processes of urban regeneration. From South America an inspiring case study will offer the opportunity to discover Medellin, which recently received global recognition as the world’s ‘Most Innovative City’. The award, from the Wall Street Journal and the Urban Land Institute recognized not only the city’s innovative businesses, but also its innovative strategy to overcome violence and reclaim neighbourhoods.
