Apple’s world-class commitment to sustainability

21 March 2015, 03:55 |

Apple has recently claimed that all its data centers are now powered by 100 percent green, renewable energy.  The global company that makes some of the most popular products in the world, continues to demonstrate an exemplary commitment to sustainability.

Energy sources include solar, wind, micro‑hydro, and geothermal power. This renewable energy comes from both onsite sources and energy obtained from local resources.

As of 2013, Apple has already converted 73 percent of the energy for all its facilities — 86 percent for its corporate campuses alongside the 100% for its data centers. And so far in 2014, more than 140 U.S. retail stores were powered by renewable energy.

We are grateful for Apple’s continued success in Europe and proud that our investment supports communities across the continent,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “This significant new investment represents Apple’s biggest project in Europe to date. We’re thrilled to be expanding our operations, creating hundreds of local jobs and introducing some of our most advanced green building designs yet.”
