Michelle Ludwig is Director of LDC (Pty) Ltd. and offers various green building consulting services along with developing and presenting green education via content development and as a Director of GreenED.co.za. She previously practiced commercial sustainable interior architecture in the United States with the firms of Hellmuth, Obata+ Kassabaum (HOK) and William McDonough & Partners (WMP). Settled in South Africa since 2006, she has worked locally as a Project Architect before associating for many years with with PJCarew Consulting (PJC) green building consultants. Her 23-year experience in 'green' has included sustainable design and management of commercial and institutional projects, building certifications, materials evaluation and research, universal design for persons with disabilities, consulting and educating for Green Building Council of South Africa, lecturing at University of Cape Town, School of Architecture and providing technical guidance to South Africa's ecolabel, EcoStandard. Further Green Star experience includes: teaching the Green Star AP course, contracted as an independent Assessor, invited to the Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Technical Working Group (TWG) for GreenStar SA Retail Centre and a peer-reviewer for the Multi-Unit Residential Tool. She currently teaches various seminars on 'green building and materials' and is developing curriculum and courses for industry professionals.
